Ariel Gail
Prof. Gail S. Goodman holds a Distinguished Chair in Psychology within the University of California Davis and is the director of its Center for Public Policy Research. She is well-known for her pioneering modern research of the memory of children as eyewitnesses and the use of child victimization in court. Professor Goodman has published widely as well as received numerous grants. She has also received many international and national awards. She has been a consultant to numerous governments and agencies throughout the world on policies and research concerning children as victims within the legal system. She is a consultant at the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center, formerly the Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She holds memberships in many professional organizations, like the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. She is the founder of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development, and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has been the president of 3 divisions (Division Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice Division, American Psychology Law Society as well as Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
